Matt Damon has always had a fascinating kind of sex appeal. Amazingly handsome, and yet there is the goofball quality that is disarming, alluring. When I saw this photo, I realized there is a certain lopsidedness to, well, all of him: his smile, his posture, and in some ways even his acting. I suppose some might criticize this — the fact that he’s sorta out of sync — yet for me, it’s inspiring since it’s what makes him tick. (Added bonus: Double 00 on t-shirt.)
Subversive identity: The ability to slide into social structures sideways, under the radar, to be able to fit and not fit at the same time. The ability to say: Hey! I am a famous movie star… and at the same time, subtly, break all those rules with a constant “out of character” quality.
